P2C Athlete Prep

Serving student athletes of El Paso County, Bexar County and throughout the state of Texas, P2C Athlete Prep's focus is on making an impact.  Through athletics and education, our mission is to inspire and empower the at-risk youth in these areas to go out and create change in their communities.  This is done by overcoming the barriers to education and sports for these student athletes and allowing them access to programs that will allow them to do just that.  Through academic prep, athletic prep, college prep, and health and wellness; P2C Athlete Prep looks to bridge the gap that these at-risk student athletes face and make obtaining a college education a viable option that can then be used to make an impact in the communities that we serve.

A 2014 study from the University of Kansas that analyzed academic performance of athletes and nonathletes across Kansas shows that participation in interscholastic athletics is often associated with better educational outcomes.  The study showed that among all groups analyzed that being an athlete helped them persist.  Whether learning time management or handling expectations from someone in their life like coaches, teammates or family members, athletes are learning discipline.  Involvement in interscholastic sports has a positive impact on high school students.
